注脚
Many of of Wang Xisan’s finest works date from the 1960’s to the early 1970’s. Although they were created at an early stage of Wang’s career ,his artistic ability was already honed to a very fine degree.
It is not unusual to find Wang Xisan’s early works being executed on fine old bottles during the late 1950’s to 1970’s ,when fine old crystal ,chalcedony ,and amber bottles were available but not quite marketable. For another inside-painted rock crystal bottle by Wang Xisan ,dated 1964 ,see Moss ,Graham ,Tsang ,The Art of the Chinese Snuff Bottle. The J & J Collection ,vol. II ,pp. 731-732 ,no ,449.
